Starting is always the worst part

Kasia writes about how starting a new project is always the toughest part of it. I couldn't agree more. Generally, I'll just putz around until I finally guilt myself into getting going. Sometimes that works, other times it doesn't.

I couldn't agree more. As hard as I try to be a good developer and write specs upfront, the project always starts out very slowly, specs or not. I've just starting looking into the XP approach and so, it's really attractive.

One thing which I have found helpful is to use a pad and paper to just jot down some thoughts / flow of what I'm trying to do.

I think stepping away from the computer to do this has helped clear my head and get me ready for the new project.
