106 Miles to Chicago

I'm not entirely sure how I got here but I'm at the Duke University Press website, struggling to not order a handful of interesting books. I forget the intriguing topics which can generally be found at an University's publishing house.

Here's what I want to buy:

• Vampires, Mummies and Liberals: Bram Stoker and the Politics of Popular Fiction - A look at the environment surrounding Stoker when he wrote Dracula.
• Displacing Whiteness: Essays in Social and Cultural Criticism - Definitely a book to review for MonkeyFist and then pass it on to Kendall.
• Ghouls, Gimmicks, and Gold: Horror Films and the American Movie Business - A look at horror movies in the 50's and 60's.
• The Commodification of Childhood: The Children's Clothing Industry and the Rise of the Child Consumer - As a father of two youngsters, this worries me. Posted by Josh at January 6, 2004 11:13 PM | TrackBack
