Writing software is like driving a bus

As I continue with my job search (and yes, a post giving more details will be coming shortly), I've tried to write code just to pass the time. Unfortunately, I've been finding that difficult to sustain. Perhaps, it is because I'm still coming to grips with losing my job, especially one I've had for over three years. N. Alex's post, however, has helped my thinking a bit.

Sometimes just the act of sitting down and writing is enough. Your mind and fingers just need to find the keys of put something down in your editor. Even if you look at the code later in the day and laugh at it, you will still be further along in your journey then if you hadn't done anything at all. At least, that's how I'm going to view it.
